Our Landscaping Journey includes one or many of what we've come to see as layers of different types of interaction with the land and its inhabitants. This multi-layered approach allows for a rich composition to emerge which has the breadth of thoroughly covering all practical requirements as well as the depth of integrating all psychic, spiritual and emotional requirements, and fostering a relationship between Man and Nature.
1st Layer: Dowsing
Mark dowses and plots out the areas of energetic strength and weakness on a plan so that awareness of de-energising areas can result in correct placement of buildings, structures and gardens. The emotional history of present or past experiences that hold back the dynamic flow of both the land and its inhabitants can be processed. Past intentions, physical characteristics & things needing to be changed are assessed.
2nd Layer: Treatments
We connect the inhabitants, the land and the spirit realm to co-create the ideal land design (including paths, animal areas, forests, orchards, landscape features, themes, sanctuaries, etc). A new clear land purpose will be established and with a list of treatments (if necessary) in order of priorities for you, or us to proceed with.
3rd Layer: Site Plan
Annwen now has a great deal of information to work with. This she overlays with the traditional physical site plan of strengths and weaknesses to best work with microclimates, aspect, light, wind, soil, etc.
4th Layer: Land Design
Making use of what she refers to as “design impulses” from what emerged in the first layers, she gathers up the threads of the client’s desires, nature’s flow and its practical influences, and her creative inspiration and weaves them together into a cohesive whole in the form of a beautiful hand drawn land design.
At this point the client may decide to work from the plan him/herself with us as consultant, or we can continue together into the installation phase.
5th Layer: Costing
We confirm together what the best course of action is and create a cost estimate according to budget.
6th Layer: Implementation
Excitement! … As we begin to work physically with the land to birth into being what has already been created in our imaginations.
7th Layer: After Care and Maintenance
A seasonal maintenance plan is recommended for your evolving, growing garden including pruning, dividing old bulbs/clumps, feeding the soil and updating planting.
There is always a beautiful, practical solution to any land challenge.
